Dig Em Up Earthworks (“we”, “us” or “our”) provides mini excavation and earthworks services from Eight Mile Plains, Queensland. This policy explains how we handle personal information when you visit our website, contact us or arrange work with us. It also explains how to ask a question, request a correction or raise a privacy concern.

We collect information relevant to your enquiry or job. Depending on what you share and the work involved, this may include:

Please only provide information needed for the job. Do not send identity documents, card details or sensitive personal information through a general enquiry.

We usually collect information directly from you when you call, email, send an enquiry or discuss a job with us. We may also receive relevant details from someone acting for you, such as a builder, landscaper or property manager. If you provide another person’s details, please make sure you are authorised to share them.

You can ask general questions without identifying yourself. We will need sufficient contact and site information to prepare a useful quote, arrange access or carry out work. If you choose not to provide that information, we may be unable to help with the request.

We use relevant information to respond to enquiries, assess coverage and access, prepare quotes, schedule and carry out work, communicate about your job, process payments, keep business records and resolve questions or disputes. Technical information helps operate and protect the website.

We do not sell or rent your personal information. Enquiring about a job does not subscribe you to a marketing list. If we send promotional messages, we will do so with the consent required by law and provide a way to opt out. Where an interactive Google Map is displayed, your browser connects to Google. Google may receive information such as your IP address, browser details and map interactions, and may use cookies under its own Privacy Policy. A static coverage illustration does not require a connection to Google Maps.

You can manage cookies through your browser settings. Blocking them may affect third-party features. Links to other websites are provided for convenience; those websites handle information under their own policies.

Our contact email uses Google’s Gmail service. Messages and attachments sent to us may therefore be stored or processed by Google outside Australia, including in the United States and other countries where it operates. Google publishes its privacy and international transfer information and data centre locations.

Other technology providers may also use overseas infrastructure. Processing locations depend on the service involved. Contact us if you would like information about the providers relevant to your enquiry. We will comply with any overseas disclosure obligations that apply to us.

We take reasonable steps to protect the information we hold from misuse, loss and unauthorised access, alteration or disclosure. Access should be limited to people who need it for the purposes described in this policy. No website, email service or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure.

We keep information for as long as reasonably needed to manage enquiries and work, maintain required records and address legal or business obligations. When it is no longer needed and we are not required to retain it, we take reasonable steps to delete it or remove identifying details. If a data breach occurs, we will assess it and make any notifications required by applicable law.

Photos or plans supplied for a quote are used to understand and manage the job. Sending them does not give us unrestricted permission to use them in advertising. We will seek permission before publishing identifiable customer or property images for promotion. Contact us if a photo or review on our website identifies you and you would like us to review its use or remove identifying information.

You can ask what personal information we hold about you, request access, ask us to correct inaccurate information or request deletion by emailing digemupearthworks@gmail.com. We may need to verify your identity before releasing or changing records. We will respond within a reasonable time. If we cannot fulfil a request, for example because a record must be retained by law or contains another person’s information, we will explain the reason and any available options.

Email digemupearthworks@gmail.com with a description of your concern and the outcome you are seeking. We will acknowledge the complaint, review the relevant information and aim to provide a response within 30 days. If we need longer, we will explain why and keep you informed.

If you are not satisfied, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner for information about available complaint options. The OAIC’s ability to investigate depends on whether the matter and business are covered by the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
